You might want to try getting hold of the Uptime Utility from MS (providing these are MS based Servers)

Otherwise I don't know how to obtain what you want directly from HPSIM.

Is there a way I can monitor server uptime, I have created a custom report specifically for this task but the field in the table is empty. Our MD wants to be able to have a printed report for his monthly meetings.

Hi,

when I execute a snmpwalk from one of my linux boxes targetting a Win2k server I get the following values containing the word "uptime":

SNMPv2-MIB::sysUpTime.0 = Timeticks: (512740500) 59 days, 8:16:45.00
HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrSystemUptime.0 = Timeticks: (832415047) 96 days, 8:15:50.47

At least the first one seems like a default behaviour in SNMPv2. I don't know why the times are different.

If I use a linux-Box as target I get:

host.hrSWRun.hrSWRunTable.hrSWRunEntry.hrSWRunParameters.10877 = "uptime"

Maybe there is a way to create something like custom attributes to machines and link them to special SNMP values?

The other thing is that the data collection report already shows a column named "System boot uptime" but this column is not filled. Maybe an error in HPSIM? (I'm using HPSIM 4.1 SP1)

With best regards

Andi
