It's a reference. The error indicates HPSIM cannot talk to the E-Mail Server.

Try Telnetting to the E-Mail Server on Port 25. You should be able to initiate a conversation. If not, there's your problem.

Hi,

I'm setting up email notification and I get the following results when I test with the reboot of a server:

"Sending failed; javax.mail.MessagingException: Could not connect to SMTP host: edm-hre-smtpp1, port: 25; Connection timed out: connect"

When setting up the SMTP host name and email address, does the email address have to be genuine/real? Or can it simply referenced like, for example, HP.SIM@ouroffice.com ?
