Patrick greetings. We also see the same thing happening. At times it does not enter any errors in the logs etc. The utility just closes and does not save the configuration. We see this across multiple server models, agent drivers (6.40 and above) and OS versions (Windows 2000 and 2003) with the same effect. We are not sure if it is caused by our GHOST images etc. At times re-installing the Management Agents corrects somewhat the issue that is happening, but again not in all cases. Maybe someone else has seen this from HP and can give an answer. I should just open a case though and post their response.

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right forum or not.

ML370 G3
W2K3
Insight Management Agents v7.10

Event notification works for events that were configured the first time. However, I can't change the events anymore. Selecting or deselecting an event and clicking OK causes lwconfig to crash. I get a Foundation Agent event 1106 in the system log. Any help would be appreciated. Online searches have proven futile.

Thanks,
Patrick

Daniel, I built this server from CD. I also tried re-installing the agents, but no luck. I don't have an HP maintenance agreement so I can't submit a case. If you'd like to and post a response that would be great. Seems like others should be having this issue too. Cheers, Patrick

Daniel,

I built a new server and opened a call with HP (still under warranty). They said this issue was a bug in v7.10 of the Insight Agents and recommended I downgrade to v7.0. I did and that fixed the problem.

Patrick
