topic SIM 4.1 UNKNOWN Devices (Incase anyone else gets this problem.....) in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

I have been running SIM 4.1 since its release fine for some time then last weekend for no reason the Servers all appeared as UNKNOWN devices. No settings had been changed on SIM or the servers managed. And no MP's were linked to the servers (mainly DL380 G3's). After searching loads I finally found the reason. Many thanks to Joel Rubenstein.

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=733624

"This happens when the file

C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager\config\nodesecurity.xml

gets corrupted.

to fix

1. stop the SIM service
2. delete the file
3. start the SIM service

A new file will be created.
