I did not have OpenSSH installed on the client, but it was installed on the server. I installed in on the client as well, but I still get the same error. I am able to get to the system from the SIM server. I also cannot install OpenSSH from the Deploy menu either. I get the same error. Any other ideas?

I am trying to run the initial proliant support pack install but the task fails almost immediately after running. The Stderr is

EXCEPTION CLASS: com.hp.mx.exceptions.MxFailedAuthenticationException
EXCEPTION: Authentication failed.

I am definately supplying the correct credentials for the client. The CMS downloads the files successfully, but the task fails. Any ideas?
Make sure you have openssh working correctly. If openssh is not working then it can not send a command to the remote computer to start the install after the upload of the support pack.

Are you running Server 2000 or 2003?

Rob

For Initial PSP task, OpenSSH is not required. Ted, Check if you can reach to the target just by supplying the hostname from the CMS. Sometimes this error could be because of DNS resolve issues.

In order for the initial PSP to be pushed out you DO need openSSH to be working correctly on the SIM Server.

Rob
