I have HP SIM 4.1 and every once in a while I get a broadcast of hundreds of oldish email alerts which is annoying the whole dept. I extracted the new patch designed to stop this but low and behold the problem has come back.

The patch is SP26214 which I got from the HP website, HPSIM Email/Pager message storm update

any ideas?

Are you sure it is not your email server that holds the broadcast back and releases it when it thinks it has some spare time left?

Why would it hold emails back from several months? Mind you we are using notes which is an awful Email system.

Not sure this is the answer, HPSIM and its predecessors seems to be pretty buggy so I would be inclined to believe this is where the problem is.

regards

The other thing I came across in the past, was an errorlog on the server which was always read when the server was booted and the errors were forwarded each time until they were deleted manually.

From the server itself, yes.
