How does this product offer?

Hi all, Can you guys give me a run down of what this product will notify me about. I understand that it will give me server up/down alerts and disk space utilization and maybe bad hardware. Can it monitor any services for me? and what else can it do? I have read all manual and most of it is just about the installation.

Jeff,
On the HP Site there's a load more documentation besides the Installation Guide.

HPSIM is more of a collection point, so you need to look at what the Server Agents etc. can monitor as it's those that send the traps back to HPSIM.
From the HP Management Agents GUI (under Control Panel) you can select Services to monitor.

The other main benefits of HPSIM are Inventory information, HP Software Version control and the ability to deliver a range of notifications.

Hey Rob, I guess I am a little confused on how to get to that clients agent GUI. I do not see any control panel so I think I am doing something wrong. or maybe the agent is not installed.. If I see the server in the CMS does that mean the the agent is sucessfully installed or just discovered?

To get to know if agents are running on a machine, browse to http://:2301. If you are able to successfuly browse to this URL then it confirms that the machine is having the agents running.

Go to Control Panel, there should be an item for the HP management Agents or similar, sorry I'm not at a suitable system just now.
