Hi

I'm monitoring several Dell servers and I have read Dell's document regarding integrating their server with HP SIM. But, although I can see them in SIM, I don't think they are discovered completely. The "System Type" always shows up as "Unknown". Do I need WBEM for Linux or anything else for this to show up? Dell servers with W2K on them shows up just fine with their "System Type" saying "Windows 2000 Server". Any ideas?

Do they have the Dell OpenManage Server Administrator for Linux installed? If so, HP SIM shouldn't care what OS they are running, as long as the instrumentation it expects to be there is there.

Anyone has any new input regarding this issue. Do HP SIM need wbem running on the managed system in order to retrieve model name and OS name?
