Hello

The 6.40 version of agent is so old, so my suggestion is upgrade agent.

I.
The reports displays incorrect amount of CPU's because SIM or the webagents are not Hyperthreading aware. We count the amount of CPU's by using the Slotnumber field. Sometimes empty fields are shown, see the attachment.
How can we read the total amount of cpu's. We are run SIM4.1 with Webagents 6.40.

The information you attached shows that HP SIM is gathering information from both the Insight agents using SNMP and from the OS using WMI. It is in fact the OS that doesn't understand hyperthreading and so it is reporting 4 processors as if they were physical processors.

The Insight agents present a hardware report and will present only physical processors, regardless of whether HT is on or not. The first 4 rows indicate that this 4P-capable server only has 2 processors populated.

Redundant information collected via the 2 methods will be normalized to a great extent with the release of HP SIM 4.2 next month. Additionally, more specific information about processor location will be available as documented in this customer advisory: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=PSD_ES041004_CW01
