topic HP SIM 4.1 Not Receiving SNMP Traps from STK Library in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

I'm running HP SIM 4.1 and HP NNM 7.1 on the same server. They both appear to be working OK. I recently configured a StorageTek L180 library to forward traps to my management server. I specified the read-only community string, IP address and SNMP listening port on the management server. I downloaded the MIB for the library from the vendor and successfully compiled and registered the MIB. I updated the severity for all of the different traps within the HP SIM GUI (SNMP Trap Setting). I also set up an task in Automatic Event Handling to log any events coming from the library and to e-mail them to myself. So I think I covered all the bases on the HP SIM side, but every time I generate an event on the library, NNM sees the event but not SIM. Did I miss something?

I don't think NNM and SIM can be run on the same server because they would both try to listen on port 162 for incoming traps.

I suggest you go to http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/tcpview.shtml and download the free tcpview utility.
