The desktop and menu shortcuts for HP SIM run a simple JavaScript application that checks to see if the HP SIM service is running before launching a browser to connect. During the time it waits, the script displays a box with 'Checking HTTP server status' along with a counter that is the minutes and seconds of the system clock. If the service isn't running, the script attempts to start the service and loops again.<BR /><BR />I have seen some situation where the script never gets a positive response that the service is running and ends up in a loop. Try to connect directly by launching the browser and typing the address and port in the address bar just like you would if you were accessing from another server.
