Don't think this is what you're looking for, but I'll mention it anyway: be forwarned that the database back-end infrastructure is very different between CIM 7 and HPSIM 4.

I maintain a database that relies heavily on IM to keep it up-to-date, and adapting my DB to the new HPSIM 4 infrastructure has been an adventure.

You should not encounter any problems.

I would wait for the release of SIM 4.2 which should be available on Dec. 9.
