topic SIM in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

Wow! Go away for a few days and look what arrives! Needless to say I am very excited to see SIM go gold, as I've seen quite a few demo's over the last several months.
Now, is there a way to do a full uninstall of Insight Manager 7, SP2.1 and then install SIM? Any reg keys that need to be removed, ect? Just curious before I try it out.

Thanks

Rob -

WOulnd't you want to run it side by side with IM7 first before the update?

To uninstall IM7 SP2.1 completely, I'd do the following (well, I think I might fresh install Windows, but that's different :).

First, remove IM7. Next, remove MSDE if you are using it. Then, go to the Program Files directory and delete both the IM7 directory (if present - it shouldn't be) and the MSDE directories (assuming of course that you aren't using MSDE on this system for something else.)

Then, I'd start the install of HP SIM.

I uninstalled IM7, then MSDE, then removed the Directories, and SIM installed like a charm.

Thanks very much
