Hi All, I (think) I sucessfully setup the openssh.exe, and traps on the managed server. then when I go to the CMS to discover it I get this error message via email.

System: WIN2K3LABSVR1, Service Tag: , Asset Tag: , Date: 12/15/2004, Time: 03:00:15 PM, Severity: Critical, Message: Windows NT authentication error: community name incorrect.

Any ideas? I have double checked the community string and the CMS and managed server are identical.

Thanks

JEff

Remember there are two places within hp Systems Insight Manager to set community strings. One is on the Global Protocol Settings page. The other is on the System Protocol Settings page, where you can override the Global Protocol settings for individual devices. Check the System Protocol Settings page.

Within the SNMP Service, ensure that the correct SNMP community is not choked off under the traps section. For instance, the community "public" may have the SIM server as a trap destination, but "private" may not. If SIM is attempting to listen to "private" and not "public", then such a scenario could cause this issue.
