If you uninstalled MSDE that got installed with VPM, try removing the database files from that MSDE installation directory. The default location is "c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$VPMMSSQL\Data" where there should be files called radiadb.mdf and radialog.ldf. Delete these files and try again.

JP

Lloyd, there was an error in the installation instructions for the web download that could have caused MSDE to not install correctly. The correct installation instructions are:
1. Unzip the VPM download into a temporary directory on the intended VPM server.
2. From the VPM\WIN_IA32 directory, double click setup.exe
3. Follow the on-screen instructions, entering your user specific information when prompted. Enter the same credentials used when installing HP SIM.

Hopefully this will fix your problem.
