In online analysis no graph is shown, and if I press apply on the graph page the PMP service crashes on SIM server.

Graph page then shows:

Proxy Error
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request POST /PMP/DeviceGraph.htm.

Reason: Error reading from remote server

Regards,
Ole Thomsen

In this case, proxy is referring to the PMP application that is used to gather the data. It sounds like you may have a DNS problem. Try telling HP SIM to use IP addresses rather than names and see what that does.

Good thing to try - I'm already using IP's though. This only seems to happen (in my case at least) when trying to view PMP stuff from a computer other than the SIM server. The SIM server and the system I'm using are on the same subnet, so there is no routing going on.

I've also done the following on both the SIM server and my computer:
- Rebooted the systems.
- Cleared IE cache, cookies, and histories.
- Cleared temp folders.
- Looked for obvious errors in the event logs.

Thanks,
Brent

Also using IP's instead of DNS/System names.

Strangely, the problem only started to appear after I allowed the plug-in to display the graph to be installed on my workstation...No it doesn't work from any workstation/browser :-(
I have got the -no graph- problem only if the client os (the computer used to browse to) is XP or 2K3.

All other clients (NT4, W2KP and W2KS) do properly show the graph.

Seems to be independant of JRE used because things work with 1.4.2.05 as well as with 1.5.0.02 or 1.5.0.04.

Regards, Erhard
Erhard,
I don't think the JRE has much to do with PMP, the graphical display is done using a registered activeX component.

On a workstation that has successfully accessed a PMP Graph, this ActiveX component will be downloaded, installed and registered. All PMP displays will then work.
From my testing, when the download of the ActiveX component was failing it was during the call to the MS site. I tracked this via our proxy logs.
As I said in another thread, this started working again here but I do not know why.
I don't want to remove the ActiveX component to retest to see if it has broken again though!
