When we monitor our servers with the insight webagents, there is displayed an "Temperature Threshold" value under "home -> recovery ->environment : Section: Temperature Sensors".
In this server model the value is for the first cpu 62C and for the second 73C. Why are these values different and how can we change them.
In remote thermal sensing there is a concept called scattering in which temperature fall-off is equal to the square of the distance. Since thermal sensors may be placed in different locations because of mechanical design constraints, HP engineering calculates and does real-world testing of the real values sensed at the location of the sensor and sets the thresholds accordingly. Thresholds cannot be changed because they are calibrated to the individual design of the server, the proximity of the sensor and the operating specifications of the component the sensor is protecting.
