I´m trying to install Systems Insight Manager 4.02 on a Win2k3 Standard Edition Server running MS SQL Server 2000. Although I have installed Microsoft MDAC 2.8 , I get the error message "HP Systems Insight Manager Installer requires Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.7 Service Pack 1 or greater to be installed." . Installation doesn´t proceed. The installation kit has been downloaded today from the HP website.

Any hints appreciated.
Thanks,
Pet

Ok, after searching the forum and reading a couple of articles, it seems that my problem comes from the environment settings.

echo %CommonProgramFiles% lists a network drive instead of the local C: drive. Unfortunately I found gazillions of these wrong entries in the registry.

Is there a Win2k3 compatible reg editor with search&replace capability ?
