topic Version Control Status "Unknown" when client log files have no entries in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

Hi,

We are running SIM 4.2 and there is a problem when SIM reports the status of the software, it reports this as "Unknown VC agent is not configured". However the agent is configured correctly, as when you click on the "?" icon it displays the software status information with out any issues.

When doing a software status poll the status doesnt change. I have since found out that if the VCR log is empty i.e "0 Lines" it will display the "Unknown" icon. If I create an entry in the VCR log on the client and then perform a "software poll", SIM then picks up the correct status.

I guess the bottom line, is why does it display "unknown status" when there is no entries in the vcr log on the client.

The vcr log is configure to hold 2 days history, i had the same problem when the log had to much information in it hence the reason for the current configuration. Please advise
