topic hprepair / hprepsim tools in Server Management - Systems Insight Manager

Anyone here know what these tools do? Following my (still unresolved) problem of yesterday, I became aware that my only option via Control Panel was to remove SIM. I did some digging and in Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager\bin I found the two tools mentioned. I ran them both (it's already badly broken, so I figured "what the heck" :)

hprepair returned:

-------------------------------------------
HP Repair Tool Results:

Server name: MARCONI

Overall Status: Major

Result Text:

No input data was supplied to the HP Repair tool.
------------------------------------------

while hprepsim returned:
------------------------------------------
Unable to decode login password.
------------------------------------------

I guess thes things must have a use - and the opportunity to repair my SIM installation instead of wiping it would be most welcome.

I know it's a bit late, but is there a way to manually back up my SIM data? - SIM no longer works and I have never exported the data for backup (I know...)

Any and all help gratefully received.

-C-
