I've just tried a 7.20 PSP install on a W2003 Server.
First off it did not delete the old HP System Diagnostics so VCA reported that it was still out of date, The Home Page had two links, both which fired up, the new and old were still there.
I manually removed both HPDiagnostics and reinstalled the new one, but now the HP Diagnostics Service will not start due to a "missing file".
VCA was working but now is failing with the following error:
Entry Details
Severity Error
Task ID vc_agent_task
Date / Time
Message An error occurred while parsing XML data.
Additional Data
XSLTTransform::applyTransform - SAX Exception!
File: C:\hp\hpsmh\data\cgi-bin\vcagent\xsl.en\inventory.xsl
Line: 1
Col: 1
Msg: Invalid document structure
I can view the VCA Log page.
Any help appreciated.
A quick update.
Looks like the Service failing is the old HP Diagnostics Service, so I've just disabled that. It didn't get removed either by the PSP Update or the Remove from the Windows App Remove Screen.
I cannot find a new Service, but the HP Diagnostics Page seems to work okay. Maybe it no longer uses a Service?

I reinstalled VCA and that now works again, but now it does not display any of the HP Diagnostics Versions. But there is definately a link to HPDiagnostics on the Server I've updated and it does bring up the new version.
Yep, similar here, I've taken to removing the HP Diagnostics manually before pushing out the PSP.
Funny, it doesn't show up in the VCA like it used to.

It seems that uninstalling means manually removing the old service from registry, uninstalling from add/remove applet did not.

A lot of work is ahead unless someone has a bright idea :-)

At my count there's 5 things broken in PSP 7.20A
Diagnostics if old version present
VCA Problem where libeay32.dll present in system32 directory.
NIC 7131 in DL G1 Server fails to deploy driver
File System Space used percentage figures incorrect for larger disks that are quite full.
File System Space sliders don't display correctly after setting.

Of these, the most worrying is now the percentage full as this has effectively disabled threshold reporting on some of my most critical disks.
I too had the v7.20 install say that the Insight Online Diagnostics installation had failed, but the log file said it installed successfully. This was on a brand new Windows 2003 install on a DL360 G4, so there were no old software versions.
