Hi! for the VLS can i directly attach a host? Will this be an issue if the host is AIX-based?

The VLS does support loop topology, if that is what you mean by direct attach. I've been told that it has a pretty good track record during plug fests, so there is a good chance that it does work.

Hi Uwe,

Do you know a link where i can verify this? The client wants to use the VLS as a regular tape device without having to connect to the SAN. They want to connect it directly to the FC HBA of an IBM p5 550 running AIX 5.3.
