topic VLS 12000 monitoring in StoreOnce Backup Storage

I have a customer using isee and would like to set up monitoring for his virtual library. I was told that OSEM is the way to monitor through the commandview interface. Is there another way other than SNMP traps? Do you configure isee/webes/osem like you would for an eva being managed by commandview. I don't have any experience with virtual tape arrays other than knowing it is attached to an EVA8100. Thanks in advance.
