Sorry, Was to lazy to raid all of the above.

I once had a e200i (ML350G5) controler boot problem because there was a usb harddisk connected. The bios was set to boot from the usb disk and there was no clearcut error message that told me what was going on.

Hi,

Recently, we updated our ILO 2 firmware to v1.81.
Now, when we reboot a windows machine (BL460C), its raid controller is not found.
When we enter the bios for a few seconds and then exit, the raid controller is found again.
At the hp site I found this exact same problem which should be resolved by installing v1.86 of the smart array e200i controller firmware.:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=be&prodTypeId=3709945&prodSeriesId=1842750&swItem=MTX-259c3eba34474b36830fd3886d&prodNameId=3288156&swEnvOID=1005&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=5

So, I updated the firmware of the raid controller to v1.86. We also installed the hpqilo2 driver v1.13.0.0.
Neither of this actions did us any good. We still have the same problem with the raid controller not being found.

Installation of the above was successful. This is the result displayed in the vcagent:

HP NC10xx/NC67xx/NC77xx Gigabit Driver NDIS5.1 Driver. 10.78.0.0

Network Teaming Intermediate Driver (NTID), 9.20.00.05, NDIS 5.1/5.2, x64, (free) on Win2K3 9.20.0.0

HP ProLiant Array Diagnostics Utility 8.10.3.0

HP ProLiant Array Configuration Utility (CLI) 8.10.2.0

HP ProLiant Array Configuration Utility 8.10.1.0

HP Insight Management Agents 8.10.0.0

HP Insight Diagnostics Online Edition 8.1.0.2718

ATI Radeon WindowsNT Miniport Driver 6.14.10.6744

Smart Array SAS/SATA Controller Storport Driver 6.12.4.64

HP ProLiant Smart Array SAS/SATA Event Notification Service 6.10.0.64

HP ProLiant Integrated Management Log Viewer 5.21.0.0

HP ProLiant Remote Monitor Service 5.20.0.0

Broadcom NetXtreme II GigE VBD 4.4.21.0

HP System Management Homepage 2.1.14.204

HP Version Control Agent 2.1.10.801

HP iLO Management Channel Interface Driver 1.13.0.0

HP ProLiant iLO 2 Management Controller Driver for Windows Server 2003 x64 Editions 1.13.0.0

HP Lights-Out Online Configuration Utility 1.8.0.1

HP NULL IPMI Controller Driver 1.0.0.0

Compaq System ROM 2009.07.10

Compaq Remote Insight ROM 1.81

Online ROM Flash Component for Windows - Smart Array E200 and E200i 1.86 1.86

Can anyone help me with this?

I don't think this is a hardware problem, since it turned op on more than 1 server at once.
Anyone who has seen this problem before? I opened a call with hp, but no reaction so far...
