I have 8 BL460c blades with a mixture of Windows Server 2003R2 x86 and x64 and Windows Server 2008R2. In HP System Management Homepage, the Version Control Agent on each one of them lists "Firmware CD Supplemental Update / Online ROM Flash Component for Linux - HP Integrated Lights-Out 2" instead of the Windows version of the update. So to update from version 1.82 to 2.00 of this update, I had to manually run it on each server. Now that they are updated to 2.00, they're all still listing the Linux update in VCA. Before v1.82, the correct Windows component update was being listed. Any ideas as to why the software for the wrong OS is being detected?

Hi Chris,

This is not an issue. iLo firmware is iLo firmware regardless of the OS.

It could be classified as linux in the supplement dvd as it may use a linux component to load it into the ROM.

It also happens with qlogic hba and network cards.
It actually is an issue because although the iLo firmware may be the same, the installer for it is OS specific and obviously the Linux installer won't run on Windows. For some reason the VCA is detecting that the Linux component installer is required instead of the Windows installer. Every other component is detected correctly as being for Windows.

No prob. It's using the Online ROM Flash update through the Version Control Agent in the System Management Homepage.

Thanks. The Smart Start and firmware DVD's work fine and I can download the update individually fine. The problem is that the Version Control Agent in the System Management Homepage wants to to install the Linux version of the installer on Windows machines, instead of offering the Windows version of the installer.
