Yes, you can do this by just creating a network. A shared uplink set will strip the tags as the frames come in to VC. But if you create a network, VC will leave the frames alone, whether they're tagged or untagged via the upstream switch.

For a very simple example:

- create a network called "dot1qtrunk" and add uplink Bay 1 port 1.
- in your server profile assign your NIC(s) to the "dot1qtrunk" network
- connect the uplink you defined (bay 1 port 1) to your upstream switch (for example to a Cisco switch port that is configured as a dot1q trunk)

Now all the tagged frames that are coming down from the Cisco to the VC to the server NIC will flow through VC without the tags being stripped.
Hi !
Is it possible to configure the downlinks ports on the Virtual Connect module for VLAN tagging? I have only found that it's possible to configure shared uplink ports for it.

Thanks for any help.

Regards

But I can only assign one vlan to the downlink ports.

no, you can only assign one "network" to a downlink port. But that "network" can contain multiple VLANs.
