I am having BL360c HP blade server which is Hardware raid( RAID 1+0). I had removed one disk and had done some activity on the first disk. Now I want to sync the second disk with the first one.

I don't have clear idea how this function and we can insert the disk while the system is up & running? or we need to down the server and do it?

Could I have some suggestion how to do it???

Thanks In Advance!!!!!

I can't really follow your question.

Did you remove one of the 2 disks, left the server running, did some work on the o.s. and now you want the to put the removed disk back?

I assume you have a smart array controller and hot pluggable disks. So when you put back the removed disk it will automatically start to rebuild with the disk still in the server.
This can all be done without shutting down the o.s.

Thanks for the reply..

Exactly my question is same. It is smart array controller.

So you mean to say we can directly insert the disk in the running system and it will automatically sync with the primary disk. Right???
Yes. A soon as you insert the second disk the smart array controller will start with the raid rebuild.
