Hi

I am new at blade server topic. I wanna ask about expansion performance of blade servers. If i buy today a blade server with 4 processors and 128 GB ram can i add a second blade server in the future and make 2 servers as one (with 8 processors , 256 ram).

Blade servers are like any other servers--there's no magic involved, so the answer is no.

Integrity i2 blade servers do have some magic in the form of a "BladeLink" connection established across the front of 2-4 dual-socket servers, but that is cost prohibitive in the x86 world...

In the HP Integrity blade world it is possible. You can buy BL870c i2 4-socket server with 128GB RAM and you can upgrade in the future to BL890c i2 8-socket with 256GB RAM.

Read the doc:
http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/GetPDF.aspx/4AA1-1131ENW.pdf
