Replacing my Blades,

Hi there,

I want to replace four of our C-class G1 blades (416655-B21) with four new G6 ones (595725-B21)

The G1 one contains two mezz cards, a Qlogic HBA and a Flex-10 mexx card.

Just to make sure: Can I replace the blades and switch over the two mezz cards from the old G1 server into the new G6?

Hi,

for Qlogic HBA - yes (remember to upgrade BIOS and firmware of HBA).

For Flex-10 mezz card - it depends on the model of card. What card model do you have?

It's a:
HP NC532m Dual Port Flex-10 10GbE Multifunction BL-c Adapter

Is that good enough?

NC532m is compatible with G6, so the answer is "YES".

I suggest considering new G7 instead of G6. The same price, better functionality (iLO3, FlexFabric LOM).

603259-B21 HP BL460c G7 X5650 6G 1P Svr
is the replacement of
595725-B21 HP BL460c G6 X5650 6G 1P Svr
and will work with this configuration.
