Hi

do i need to install HBA cards ( mezzanine cards ) in the HP Bl680c server so i can use the VC flex switch fabric installed in the C7000 enclosure ?

Hi Toni,

what server Generation do you have?
BL680 G5 does NOT have Flex Fabric NICS
BL680 G7 has those.

So for the G5 you would have to buy a mezz.

it is BL680 G7 .

i need to connect them to a SAN , so do i need HBA mezzanine cards

Hi Toni,

you can use the integrated NICÂ´s with the VC Flex Fabric IC with FC (over Ethernet) or iSCSI - so there is no need to install a additional HBA to connect to your SAN.
