Hello,

I have many Bl c-class servers, all of them have the AMD Optheron CPU, as I understand this CPU is 32 bit. now some of these servers have up to 12 GB memory. In windows server 2003 I only see 4 GB.

1- is it possible to install windows server 2003 64 bit on a 32 bit architecture?

2-should I use the /PAE switch to be able to address the 12 GB memory. because I read that this is an intel command. Is it applicable for AMD also?

I have two types of c-class blades. One of them uses the 2218 AMD processor and the others use the 8216 AMD processor. I checked in AMD and in HP it is not listed as 64 bit.

Are you sure they are 64 bit?

If not can I use the /PAE with AMD processor?

So you are saying that installing a 64 bit OS will solve my problem

One of the main points AMD pushed about the *Opterons* from day one was the support for 64-bit virtual addressing. It has been that way long enough that some writeups may just take that knowledge for granted.
