We recently got 685C and was wondering if 685C and 685CG1 are one and the same ?

I think you are right. 685C and 685CG1 both are same.

Hello Amit,

They are one and the same in hp proliant models any which says BL685c it has to be Generation 1 if it is a generation 2 or 4 and so on it will specifically will say or will be printed on the chassis.
