Hi, this worked for me:
(from Vladislav Proskuryakov)

1) Login to iLO2 Advanced via IE6 (Firefox is NOT supported!)
2) Virtual Devices -> Virtual Media.. click "Launch" buttin (NOTE: Java Plugin required)
3) In the pop-up window, select "Local Image File:" -> Browse for image -> Press "Connect"

Next steps are on HP-UX (in my case 11.31):
4) See the new device (MassStorage) to appear:
ioscan -kfnC disk
5) Use the mount command to mount your image to the desired destination folder. For example:
mount /dev/deviceFileSystem/Usb/MassStorage/dsk/disk\@UnknownDevice-1008+4902\=0017a4aba3fc /mnt/iso2

Hello,

I need to load my application DVD's using the virtual device (laptop) in ILO. Once I map the DVD using ILO, How do I point to the virtual device. How do I tell swinstall to use this source? I was able to load the OS using virtual device, but not with the applications DVD's. The Blades are new to me so I'm just not sure. When I do a bdf it shows a /deviceFileSystemDevFS mounted.

HP Blade c870
HP 11.31 O/S

Thanks in advance,
Sp,
Hey

I don't know how to do this. but you can insert the dvd in an other hpux box with a dvd device and share the depot files...

swreg -l depot /mnt/cd

then you can use this source on your blade server

HTH

Regards
