We have the latest Blade System. I need to install Linux on one of the blades but I only have the ISO image. Does the Blade System support booting an ISO image that is located anywhere on the network (just mounted) like the RSA-IIs on the IBMs?
"We have the latest Blade System."

How can you be sure?

You should connect to the iLO and select "virtual media", "load" the ISO and assign it.

It's not this hard.

Connect to the C7000 chassis onboard administrator, select the blade, go to its ilo and you are there.

I know sir... once you're familiar with one iLO, it should be all the same ;^))

Just wanted to confirm really that such functionality is available so our "Blade/Intel Admin" -- which is a different fiefdom is aware of our need.

Man, G6 blades with up to 24-way and 256GB of RAM? We can potentially house our entire enterprise on one c7000!
If I'm not mistaken you have to have the advanced ILO-2 license on the blade that comes with the ICE license. This will allow you to SSH to the ILO IP and mount the ISO as a virtual CD. If you don't have these licenses I believe you're hosed because the virtual CD-ROM that runs as an applet from your workstation is slow as molasses.
