We have HP C7000 chassis with the following three blades

BL680 - Bay 1 & 9 - it is using Virtual Connect Bay 1: Port X1
BL460 - Bay 3 - it is using VC Bay 1: Port X2
BL460 - Bay 11 - it is using VC Bay 2: Port X2

There are two Virtual connect 10G ethernet modules installed in bay 1 and 2.

Currently servers are using dedicated ports, however we are planning to do the following:

All three servers configure to use VC Bay1: port X1 and if any thing happened all three IP addresses will failover to bay 2: port X1
BL680 need to use 400MB and other two servers 300MB each. All three servers has Red Hat Linux installed

Could you please confirm if it is possible and what is the procedure to do that? Is there any downtime required?

Thanks

So You have Flex-10 VC modules ? Are your bl460 servers G6 model ? With virtual connect we do not usually think the uplink as per server dedicated (waste of cables). Adjusting the server connection speeds will for for flex-10 NICs (G6 blades)
