I am always confusing XAUI and the other singalling so cannot answer that part of the question, but if you follow the links to the actual quickspecs you will see that is indeed the "double wide" switch of which I was speaking - they talk about supporting the NC512m and make reference to Chelsio and other third-party cards. It will support *only* those cards, it will not support any of the 10G cards which work with either the Flex-10 or ProCurve 6120. (Nor will it support any of the 1G cards).

We have Chelsio Dual Port 10G Ethernet Cards (PN:S320EM-BS) and we are not sure if those cards are compatible with Flex-10 or Procurve! HOW could we detect the compatibility?
IMO, the Chelsio S320m was an excellent NIC in its day. Alas, the Chelsio S320m is not compatible with either the Flex-10 or the ProCurve 6120. It uses a type of signalling across the chassis backplane that those modules do not speak. Like the NC512m, the S320m will only work with the older (and now off the CPL?) double-wide BLc 10 Gbit switch.

10Gbit Mezz cards known to work with the Flex-10 or the ProCurve 6120 are the NC522m, NC532m, NC542m and NC552m, and perhaps others.

In theory, the quickspecs for a given product will list that with which the product is compatible. In this specific case, you would need to be perusing Chelsio's equivalent to quickspecs.
