There is a problem using Procurve 6120 and Flex10 together in a chassis!
Flex-10 forces to map the mezzanine cards while I have inserted a couple of procurve switches into bays 5 and 6 and configured the ports by switches! How could I disable flex-10 for mezzanine ports!?
The Spec:
(Bay1 and Bay2:Flex-10 ; Bay5 and Bay6: Procurve)
Mez Cards: nc532m
Flex-10 Firmware: 3.10
Procurve Firmware: Z.14.12
Are these newly added NC532ms or were they already present and connected to Flex-10 modules you removed and replaced with the 6120s?

Since I am testing several configurations, After testing with a 4 Flex-10 Interconnect Module, I just removed All modules and then Added A Flex-10 to Bay 1 and 2 and two 6120s to Bays 5 and 6.

you probably have to "Remove from Domain" I dont remember if this is in OA under "interconnect bays", or in VCM.

I think the newer FW versions dont need this anymore.

Dave.

1. Log in to VCM.
2. In Navigation Pane on Left, scroll down and select "Interconnect Bays"
3. Select the bay you are interested in (click on Bay number)
4. There should be a button "Remove from Domain" (might be greyed out).
5. Click on "?" next to button.

I think in the newer firmware, the button doesnt appear until the module is physically removed.

I also think this process has to be carried out before the new module is inserted.

HTH

Dave.
The point is that the main virtual connect module maps the ports to the corresponding interconnect bays regardless of emptiness of the interconnect bay!

As I've understood, Flex-10 VC modules and 6120 Procurve Switches couldn't be used together! But I just want to be sure about that! Any Comments?

It should indeed be possible to use both Flex-10 and 6120s in the same chassis with the latest firmware versions. I think you have simply encountered a "wrinkle" when swapping modules around that may require a bit of prior configuration work.
