BL460 G7 memory configuration ??

We're trying to shuffle DIMMS between some BL460 blades before putting them into production.

1) For a blade with a single quad core CPU (X5672), can it use 5 sticks of 8GB ??

2) For a blade with two 6 core CPUs (X5670), can it use 2 sticks of 8GB on each CPU ??

Will there be a noticeable performance hit in either of these scenarios ?

The best is always utilizing the 3 available channels of DDR3 equally, so a even amount of number of DIMMs accross the 3 channels...
