I have been presented with the following:
- p-Class Enclosure
- 6 HP BL20p servers
- 2 BL G-BE2 interconnect switches
and a 1u Rack mount PDU with 6 modules without any means of powering it up, which is where the problem is. What is the best method of supplying power to the PDU.

The UPS i haven't been given. Could I plug power cables straight into the back of the PDU? if so what would you recommend until i got a UPS. This is the first Blade setup i have encountered so apologies if the questions appear somewhat simple.

Michal,
Thanks for the link, it was helpful. So i could just plug in a single phase power source into the 6 sockets at the rear of the PDU?
Unless you could recommend a UPS that would be suitable.

Thanks again

hi Tom,

So i could just plug in a single phase power source into the 6 sockets at the rear of the PDU?

- yes, this is possible, and many companies using this option

Unless you could recommend a UPS that would be suitable.

- in our racks from HP we have :

HP Rack-Mountable R5500 UPS - the quick spec you will find in the attachment of tis message.

- but this UPS is only for temporary outage of the main power supply, we have also centralized UPS, and diesel generator, for the hole Datacenter.

- in some other racks we have APC ups, but finaly its not so mather wich vendor you will use. The importants option is the posibility to connect your blade or PDU.

mikap

Thanks again
