Trying to understand EFM, Enclosure Firmware Management, so it's used in conjunction with SPP, but not supported on older OA 412142-B21 why is that?

The issue with running EFM on the older OA modules is that EFM is very memory intensive from an OA perspective. The older OA modules have significantly less RAM than the newer OA modules. It was determined during development/testing of this feature that memory was consistently exhausted on older OA modules while running EFM causing the OA firmware to crash as a result of the out of memory condition. Given this limitation the feature was disabled by policy on older modules as a safeguard.
