I have this bl680c g7 that I got off ebay...and then spent a month or three finding the c7000, power supplies etc. etc. As described in a previous forum question, nothing would allow the blade to power on, or the SUV cable to work. Eventually I could log on to the ip address of the blade with ilo using the name and pw for the container (container ip address coming back "404 not found")
Nothing would get past this until by rashly turning all maintenance switches on, causing the blade to power up and suv cable to work for the first time, then whittling it down one by one, I determined it was number 3 that allowed the thing to power up, where it remains.

Does anyone know why this would happen?
More importantly, does anyone know why this might cause a CD rom OS install to jam up with "POSIX comp. testing by UNIFIX" and none of the F button options working? (over and over and.....)

Hi @Eor ,

To isolate the exact issue, we would need to check certain things.

Please check and share:

1. Can you access Onboard administrator?

2. If yes, is iLO accessible via OA?

3. Have you tried clearing the NVRAM on the server? If yes, please do and check.

4. You will also need to check the power supply configuration. Refer to the document for the same: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=mmr_kc-0107478

You may also log a case with HPE support if the issue is still unresolved.

I cannot access the OA as far as I know. I have pictures of the ipv4 address in enclosure settings (192.168.1.105) and the blade ipv4 address in blade/port information (192.168.1.100) The second is the only one I can log into ilo with. It just brings up the same startup screens, press F9 to enter RBSU setup, etc. visible on the display plugged into the SUV cable. I have a picture of that as well.

I cleared nvram (again, I think) by selecting reset configuration in RBSU setup. Picture of this as well.

All of this still just leads to the RHE 6.1 trying to install from the usb disc drive on the SUV cable until it stalls out at "POSIX conformance testing by UNIFIX....." Picture of this as well. Once I made it to the red screen of death, but Im not quite sure how.

Is there any point in erasin

I cant figure out how to insert the pictures in this little box though

i have two 110v power supplies plugged into a large UPS, which works for several hours anyway. The two are iin the recommended slots for one blade, bay 2.

Still have same problem. Since my last post, however, I did discover the ilo3 configuration utility entry (F8) hiding behind the splash screen after disabling it. I now understand the difference between general RBSU screens for the blade and Ilo3 RBSU screens for configuring ilo, users, etc. I made it into the Array configuration utility, checked the boot drive, and created a logical drive for installing RHE 6.1 on as it seemed to suggest.

STILL.........it enters the Red Hat installation menu [__ , text, expert], starts unzipping stuff, and then stops cold at "POSIX conformance testing by UNIFIX"

Is there any chance that trying to mount the OS, firmware update, and other disc images in Ilo remote console, then installing them through the Linksys router thats plugged into the OA module might work, where going directly through the SUV cable failed?

I have not seen the inside of the Ilo 3 or OA GUI yet. How does one get to the slick login splash screen for Ilo 3? On UTube, there's a guy who does this by going to a web address with a browser "other than Chrome". I do not have internet access for my laptop or the enclosure, unfortunately, just for my phone (the server is going to be used as an offline calculating/modelling machine, so no connectivity is foreseen, which could be hurried along, and thereby make network installation easier or possible......Im not just being slow or lazy with that.
