VCEM demo on a VM guest?

Greetings,

Have any of you been successful setting up a standalone Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager 1.1 on an ESX VM guest? It says that it is compatible with ESX 3.x guests.

The SIM install keeps failing at database initialization (I'm using local SQL express installed during the install)

HPSIM.LOG:
[05-21-2008][11:26:33][HP Systems Insight Manager]Error:Database initialization failed. Setup cannot continue.

Error:
1) Connection to the repository server failed.

HPSIM_INIT.LOG:

The 2nd article might apply. The first is for SIM upgrades which this is not and I don't have config files to modify. Thanks
