I'm not sure how familiar you are with the ProLiant server line but during the boot you will need to press the F8 button after the internal controller inits. Configure the 2 drives as you mentioned above. Sounds like a normal deployment of W2K3 R2, make sure you use the latest smartstart cd. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=3709945&prodSeriesId=3948609&prodNameId=3948610&swEnvOID=1113&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-23e8a63eb7ab4fc38618d4cc76 Mount the ISO via iLO or via the chassis USB drive. Follow the steps to deploy the os. I hope this helps point you in the right direction.

If the server cannot see the drives then this has nothing to do with the enclosure. I would as a first step, remove the server from the enclosure and do the following: Remove lid and strip back server to base configuration (no mezzanine cards or extra RAM / CPU. Put back into the enclosure and power on and see if you can see the drives in the BIOS (press F8). If no luck then: I would as a first step, remove the server from the enclosure and do the following: Remove both HDD"s Remove lid and then remove and reset the HDD drive back plane the drives plug into. Perhaps reseat other components as well. Put back into the enclosure and power on and see if you can see the drives in the BIOS (press F8). If you still have no luck then you are looking at a faulty HDD back plane or DOA system board. These can be replaced under warranty. Good luck Nick

The BL495c G6 does not have a RAID controller built in. The controller on the motherboard that connects to the internal SSDs is just a SATA controller. So you'll never see the F8 prompt. The only way to mirror the two internal SSD is to put the SMart Array P712m RAID controller mezzanine card into the blade, and then cable the SSDs to the mezzanine card. In your configuration (P700m in mezz 1, FC in mezz 2), I presume you're using the P700m + a SAS switch to connect to external storage? If so, then the *only* option for you is going to be to mirror them using the WIndows 2008 mirroring (sometimes called "software RAID"). Here's one how-to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/951985
