Hi,

I have a question and wonder if someone can help with an answer. If I have a FLex 10 domain and configure a VLAN (Network) for 2 servers, will the servers traffic stay inside the domain if they are taking in the same VLAN or will the doamin route the traffic to the core switches?

Regards,

Gerhard

As long as the VLAN stays within the enclosure and only goes between the servers then it does not exit the enclosure. The VC module knows the MAC address of the servers and will " bridge" the traffic. Just remember that the traffic cannot have destination outside of the enclosure. This is a key advantage of the Virtual Connect technology that reduces the number of switch ports needed and reduces latency as well.
