Hi,

Your post is very interresting.

I've just checked on OA the show update command and here is the result:

BLADE | HP StorageWorks SB40c | 2 | 1.20 | 2.20
BLADE | HP StorageWorks SB40c | 4 | 1.20 | 2.20
BLADE | HP StorageWorks SB920c | 6 | 1.20 | 2.20

My question is which command do i type to update 2xSB40C + 1xSB920c?
And can i update them in production?

Thanks a lot for your help :-)

Siegfried

Hi Joel,

UPDATE {SHOW | DEVICE} [ FORCE ] {ALL | LCD | TRAY | BLADE [ALL | <LOCATION> [{ , | - } <LOCATION>]] | ICBAY [ALL | <LOCATION> [{ , | - } <LOCATION>]] | FAN [ALL | <LOCATION> [{
, | - } <LOCATION>]] }: Administrator account privileges are required... UPDATE SHOW (or SHOW UPDATE) displays enclosure components that are available for microcode upgrade.
UPDATE DEVICE executes the upgrade process on one or more available enclosure components (if required). UPDATE DEVICE FORCE option allows microcode updates regardless of current
version number.

This command works only on Tape Blades it shows the ISMIC version or TAPEMIC version.

If you want to see the ROM version of the Server, See the Rack Firmware page in the GUI.

If you have any Storage Blades try to execute the command it will work fine.
</LOCATION></LOCATION></LOCATION></LOCATION></LOCATION></LOCATION>

Perhaps the documentation could be improved to clarify the blade types.

Ideally being able to upgrade the firmware on the CPU blades from the OA would be great.

Thanks,

Joel
