I have a lot of BL465c servers using Windows server 2003 R2 64bit and 32 bit on different BL465c. Some of them using smart start some juts manual installation.

The servers work fine, I get then in safe mode or safe mode with networking they load fine but when I am about to type the password they freeze and crash.

This happens in server on different enclosures. The only thing I noticed is that only DIMM slots 1 to 4 was populated.

I change 2 of them to slots 5 and 6, (they are all 1GB same speed, HP branded)

Bios, iLO up to date

Any Ideas.

Hi,

Can you explain your problem further please...

If as you say "The servers work fine" why are you booting them into safe mode ??

Can you also explain what you mean by "freeze and crash".

Cheers,

Rob

Hi,

The reboot is probably down to the ASR functionality (Automatic System Recovery).

So the server has noticed the hang and restarted the OS. Try turning ASR off in the RBSU and you might get some more troubleshooting information in the event log

Regards,

Rob
