I am upgrading the memory capacity of my blade servers. The memory modules came with 8gb; 4gb and 2gb capacities.
How should I install the memory modules for optimum configuration and best performance ?
Please give me all the recommended options.

Regards,

Depends on how many CPU's you have.

The quickspecs show the recommended way http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13238_div/13238_div.html

But easier to open the server and on the back of the cover you'll see a diagram of the DIMM slots and some instructions.

Be aware it's a different layout to earlier generation BL460c servers.

Is it better to miss:

2GB with 4GB ?

4GB with 8GB ?

8GB with 2GB ?

The ideal is to get 40GB per blade server.
What is the best combination ?

Best Regards,

On the inside of the blade's cover is a memory diagram. Make sure you populate the slots starting with A and working your way through the letters of the alphabet from there. The sweet price point is the 4GB module. So if you're going to put 40GB into the blade you're going to need to have two processors and will put 5 sticks of memory into each processors memory banks.

Also depends on what memory is already in the server.

This the best doc that explains it all.
http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/GetPDF.aspx/c01750914.pdf
