We buy Shelf for our Alletra Array 6090, but when we read the Caution about to activate , we dont know it all the service have to shutting down before?

Hi CALZURU,

It is an online activity, however I would recommend you plan for downtime and perform the activity so that there will not be any impact on the data services from HPE Alletra 6090 array.
This does not require to shut down the array.

HPE recomandation is to do it off-peek hours

but I have done it during the day with my customers

a few times and all went well.

usually I ask the customer before to let him decide

Hope you are doing good.

Shutting down array or hosts for expansion shelf activation is not required. Generally, caution says that you might consider a maintenance window while activating the shelf. But it can be done when the IOPS are less or during the weekends.
