I have a AF3000 SAN presenting thin provision CSVs to a Windows 2012 R2 cluster. Nimle dashboard is showing 86% disk capacity used. We recently moved a lot of data off the CVSs but used capacity have not gone down. I need to expand other CSVs but concern with SAN degradation if used capacity percentage goes any higher. Is there a way to compact volumes to reclaimed the expanded space that is no longer being used?

The Windows cluster/machines should send unmap commands for deleted content. If this is on a VMware ESXi hypervisor, ESXi needs to send unmaps for VMFS filesystems.

Hi @ThomasN,

I wonder if you have any Nimble snapshots on the volumes, which date back to before you moved the data off them? If so, these will tie up your capacity until they get deleted, either manually or as part of a schedule.
