Hello there, you should login into InfoSight, and check the hops needed to get to the latest version. That is shown under Software Recommendations.

Now, related to the no disruptions/downtime, Nimble storage is has 2 controllers, one active and one on standby mode, so when one controller is being updated, the hosts access the LUNs through the other one. That way the hosts doesn't lose the access.

So in order to avoid disrutpions, you just need to make that the Multipath is properly configured on all the hosts connected to the array. Depending on the OS, there are different MPIO policies.

https://infosight.hpe.com/InfoSight/media/cms/active/public/pubs_NimbleOS_5.0.x_Help.whz/gua1501525260774.html

Nimble documentation can be found here:

https://infosight.hpe.com/org/dbeb6868-3b40-4d14-a327-30b81831e472/resources/nimble/docs

Best regards
